This years World Travel Awards was held at the Pátio da Galé in Lisbon. Up against some amazing destinations such as the Maldives and the USA. Portugal still managed to pull it out of the bag yet again.

Portugal’s secretary of Tourism Ana Mendes Godinho proudly accepted the award. She described Portugal as an authentic yet sophisticated country which is now being discovered by sea and air all over the world. Last year Portugal welcomed over 13 million tourists from across the globe!
