Beaches in the Algarve are among the most beautiful in the world. Enjoying a delicious lunch or dinner on the beach is pretty close to most people’s idea of holiday heaven. In the Algarve the choice of beach restaurants is vast.
Beach restaurants are hugely popular for lunch. There is always a super selection of fresh fish – a great attraction for locals and tourists alike. What better way to take a break from sunbathing than to sit on a terrace, with magnificent sea views, whilst enjoying a cool beer and a dish of prawns!

NoSoloAgua Vilamoura
The seafront bar planted at NoSoloÁgua Vilamoura is the ideal place to relax while sipping fresh juices or cocktails. With the dunes out back and the sea up front, the NoSoloÁgua Vilamoura is another success story that, from year to year, only translates into more people visiting for the entertainment of the sunsets, where one can dance barefoot in the sand with the moon to illuminate the improvised dance floor.
Whether paying a visit for the top DJ’s or the unique and relaxed atmosphere of their cosmopolitan parties, the truth is that NoSoloÁgua Vilamoura continues to revolutionise from morning to night – The life of Vilamoura’s most famous beach since 2001.
BJ’s Oceanside
BJ’s Oceanside can be found just outside the exclusive resort of Vale do Lobo in the central Algarve. For those feeling energetic, a quick 20-minute wander from the praca (just turn right and walk!) will have you arriving at BJ’s, ready for a cool refreshing drink. BJ’s may be rustic in appearance, but it is packed with charm and if you fancy dining with sand literally between your toes – BJ’s is the place for you! They specialise in grilled fish, all sourced locally and delivered daily so all you have to do is pick from their ‘CATCH OF THE DAY’ selection. For those not feeling ‘fishy’, the menu at BJ’s is packed full of exciting goodies which are created using local produce where possible. If that isn’t enough to tempt you, they have live music regularly throughout the year and service is always delivered with a warm smile – Every day is a happy day at BJ’s!
The Shack
With laid-back, rustic charm, The Shack is the lakeside hangout where you can enjoy afternoon drinks and tasty food in a relaxed summertime atmosphere. Standing on the shoreline, overlooking the lake, the bar and grill embraces the authenticity of an Algarve fisherman’s shack, where you can forget all your troubles and simply soak up the setting.
With a selection of sundowner cocktails, cold beers, sangrias, or wines, The Shack is where you can relax in the company of feel-good food, friends, and live music! They are renowned for their summer parties… If you don’t believe us, ask their regulars!

Windsurf
Alvor beach is one of the best beaches in the Algarve. A huge stretch of golden sand, with the caves and rock arches of Prainha to the east and the the town of Lagos to the west. Behind is a winding wooden boardwalk that crosses the dunes and follows the Ria de Alvor along it’s estuary. Windsurf overlooks Alvor beach and is the perfect spot for that first chilled beer when you come off the beach after a hard day’s sunbathing.
Windsurf is a retro kind of beach bar – there’s no background music or TV screens… just the sound of the waves complete with blue skies and sun-kissed shoulders!
Julia’s
Julia’s, located between Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo on the long expanse of Garrão beach, is one of the best beach bars and restaurants in the Algarve. It is extremely popular, particularly with families and celebrities, due to its modern and aesthetically pleasing style, as well as emphasis on their customer service.
Open all year round with ocean views, fresh cuisine, and loyal staff, with many of them being around for over 20 years, Julia’s has established itself as a must-visit venue. Whether you want a refreshing cocktail, a snack, or a full lunch/dinner, you can enjoy it all with the most breath-taking views. Julia’s open-sided dining room and terrace merge with sand and sea. They are a family orientated restaurant with a welcoming vibe and live music 3 times per week.
If you wish to be slightly away from the crowd, why not try their new champagne deck with the most spectacular setting. Julia’s has been enthusiastically welcoming its loyal patrons for the past 46 years and is one of the most exciting destinations in the Algarve.

Arte Nautica Beach Restaurant
Arte Náutica is a stylish beach restaurant located right on the golden expanse of Armação de Pêra beach and forms part of the five-star Vila Vita Parc Resort. By day, it is a charming spot for a carefree bite by the beach, while at dinner, the romance factor rises as the sun sinks over the ocean.
With a nautical inspired decor, Arte Náutica offers a feeling of tranquillity to its visitors. The inner restaurant, with its blue and white striped seats and various decorative details, and the outer terrace with large panoramic windows overlooking the golden sands and the blue Atlantic Ocean waters, offers the perfect setting for a relaxed and intimate lunch or dinner.
Excellence and quality are the standards here and the wine list includes wines from the Herdade dos Grous Estate in the Alentejo, which also belongs to Vila Vita Parc.
Izzy’s Beach Bar and Restaurant
Izzy’s Beach Restaurant is located right on the Vale do Garrão beach, in the Algarve’s Golden Triangle and is what a beach restaurant experience is all about.
Open all day, and all year round with scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean from their open-air lounge, you can encounter Izzy’s at lunch, dinner, or just for a cocktail when it suits. Izzy’s has a relaxed atmosphere combined with a fantastic selection of menu choices including a fine mix of Portuguese and International dishes as well as steaks, burgers, chicken, salads, and a children’s menu.

WELL Restaurant
Located right by the beach at Vale do Lobo at the resorts iconic Praça, living well comes naturally at WELL.
WELL is a daytime, casual and fun beach restaurant, and a night-time glamorous fine-dining venue. The deck has sliding glass walls for comfortable winter dining with sea views, and there is a new and fabulous indoor dining and bar area, which promises a winter of fun.
Overlooking the beach and offering style and quality, the restaurant has a magnificent beachside deck as well as a wonderful pool terrace, circled by tall, swaying palms. WELL is a superb venue for that perfect seaside lifestyle, all year round.
The daytime menu at WELL has a great range of dishes and cuisines to choose from and is perfectly suited to a relaxed dining experience with friends and family. The night-time menu is all about quality. As well as their magnificent sushi, there are also premium steaks and Portuguese inspired dishes, which are all made up using wonderful local produce.
